Celebrating Women’s Small Business Month with Purpose
October was a month to remember as WEOP proudly celebrated Women’s Small Business Month with two inspiring events that reflected our mission, legacy, and commitment to advancing women in business.
On October 29, WEOP kicked off the celebration in grand style with an exclusive, invitation-only event titled “Made By Women.” Held in the elegant Penthouse Suite of the Four Seasons Hotel, this unforgettable evening, conducted in partnership with DAYO Women and made possible through the generous support of our sponsors, honored 25 years of WEOP’s service empowering women entrepreneurs and professionals.
The event was intentionally designed as a give-back experience and an acknowledgment of the remarkable women who continue to inspire, lead, and make an impact in the community. Guests enjoyed a luxurious gifting suite curated by DAYO Women, where every attendee selected a complimentary clothing item of their choice — from elegant dresses and scarves to chic pants, tops, and robes.
A highlight of the evening was a special recognition presented by Council Member Marci Collier Overstreet and Yolanda White of DAYO Women, whose acknowledgment of our enduring legacy brought a deeply meaningful close to a night filled with joy, reflection, and empowerment.
A sparkling champagne toast sponsored by BMO added the perfect touch, celebrating both WEOP’s milestones and the remarkable women who continue to lead, build, and inspire.
WEOP extends heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, BMO, Amazon, BET Her, Smith Real Estate Services, Inc., and K.G. Hughes & Associates for making this evening possible and unforgettable.
The following day, WEOP continued the celebration with a powerful, action-driven event, the Economic Equity Business Forum, hosted in partnership with the Small Business Majority.
This year’s forum introduced a new and engaging format, “WE Talks,” featuring insightful conversations led by dynamic women leaders. Discussions explored pivotal topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Civic Engagement, and Real Estate development, each offering practical strategies and thought-provoking dialogue on advancing economic equity and opportunities for women.
The energy in the room reflected a shared commitment to learning, growth, and collaboration. Each presentation reinforced the vital role women play in shaping the future of business, technology, and community development.
