We are expanding our membership and are excited to align with a powerful network of women dedicated to community and economic development, now recognized as a key niche within WEOP. The Women in Community Development (WCD) network, formerly operating as an Atlanta-based chapter, was founded by two visionary leaders, LaToya Kyle and Christie Cade. Their mission has always been bold and clear: to cultivate and empower women as leaders and innovators in community and economic development.

Through this collaboration, members of the former chapter will transition into WEOP, forming a dedicated niche that focuses specifically on community and economic development. This is more than a transition, it is a unification of voices, networks, and expertise, designed to build something stronger, more intentional, and more impactful together.

As part of WEOP’s growing ecosystem, this initiative introduces a vital focus area where members can engage in targeted programming, meaningful conversations, and hands-on workshops. Together, we are strengthening pathways for leadership, expanding opportunities, and shaping the future of our communities by design, and with purpose.

This is an important collaboration reflects the “power of partnerships”, when organizations and leaders come together with a shared purpose, we unlock new pathways to support, elevate, and invest in the talent of women. Partnerships like this expand access to resources, strengthen networks, and create meaningful opportunities for women to step into leadership roles with confidence and visibility.

When women are actively engaged in community and economic development, they help ensure that growth that reflects real community needs. Their leadership brings fresh perspective, strengthens local economies, supports small business ecosystems, and helps create jobs and opportunities.

Together, we are cultivating a future where women are shaping the future!
